Life Update | Do What Makes You Happy

Hi everyone

It’s been a long time since I have posted but that’s because I have been on 6 weeks hospital placement at the QEH doing Palliative Care. It was confronting and emotional at first seeing patients that are in end-of-life stages but it was also very rewarding as you are helping them and making sure they are comfortable even though in pain.

After finishing, I went back to work and just been feeling really exhausted after placement and trying to get back into a routine again. I also had a busy social life that I haven’t really been able to sit down and blog. But now that I am sick with a cold and have more free time as I have nearly finished with my studies I thought to blog more.

But I don’t really know what to blog about. I have thought to just update you on what has been happening in my life lately. I have been concentrating more on growing my Instagram foodie account called @natsmyfoodielife and have only just changed the look of my Instagram profile. I am really happy with it. I have discovered Vista Create and Pixelcut, which are easy to use so I have created some icons for my Instagram profile page. Just so it is consistent and looks prettier. I also made a cover for my Facebook page: @natsmyfoodielife. Studying graphic design has helped me know about photography, marketing and creating a website so it is definitely good to have those skills. I do it for fun but to also gain more followers. I have reached my 1K goal but now I am wanting to reach 2K. I have other accounts for different interests such as lifestyle: @natsmyspace and planning: @natsmyplanner but I am not as invested in it as I am with my foodie account. I didn’t know being a foodie was a thing until about 3 years ago when I started Natsmyfoodielife!

However, I am trying to have more followers on my lifestyle account by creating reels. It has so far helped and I am having so much fun in the process. So it is important to do what makes you happy and this makes me happy! I don’t care what people think. I didn’t expect my foodie account to grow that much but taking photos of food makes me happy and I have made lots of friends via Instagram whilst doing what I do. If it weren’t for being a foodie then I wouldn’t have made these friends or had these experiences like a Disney cocktail night, and modelling for Boho Luxe Market. I didn’t even know food photography and food marketing were a profession until now.

Since reaching 1K, I have been lucky enough to be invited by a restaurant to do a collab with them where I was treated to lovely food and a cocktail just so I can review and take photos for them. It was for a lovely restaurant called Von Thai. You can check out my honest review on my Instagram account! I was also invited to S Candy Bar, which is a cute dessert bar on Gouger Street, Adelaide that does Instagram-worthy desserts. I was lucky to be able to try their magic tea that changes from blue to purple once you put a lemon in it. The manager even gave us free ice cream and put us in a private function room to take photos of their desserts. He gave discounts to my friends as I brought two friends with me. The staff are very nice there and we were treated like we were at home. Just thinking about these memories makes me smile and I am very grateful.

That’s why I have changed the name of this website to Natsmyfoodielife as I want it to be consistent but I am not sure if I should keep it as natsmyspace to tie in with the other account. I have too many accounts! I feel I got my creative side from my dad. Anyways, the future is looking bright for me! I am looking forward to finishing my course and enjoying more experiences. Let me know the highlights of the last few weeks so far!

Love Nat xx
